Although we are not a job placement agency, we believe that our job information and guidance services are significantly better than those offered by any other TEFL training center in Canada or the USA. Over the past five years, our graduates have taught in more than 50 countries, from Argentina to Zimbabwe.
There are EFL schools/programs everywhere, but most are in non-English speaking countries. Teaching takes place in public schools, language schools, universities, companies, etc. Public school classes are often very large: 30+ students. Classes in language schools and in companies usually have 6-14 students, and some are 1-on-1.
We constantly monitor the TEFL job market, and we produce a newsletter which lists current TEFL job openings around the world. We will send a copy of this newsletter to our graduates (by mail, fax or e-mail) at any time after their course. We will also send them extra materials from our Job Files. There is no extra charge for these services.
The School has assisted literally hundreds of schools with their recruitment needs, and have built up an extensive network of overseas contacts. Many overseas employers now contact us directly when they are looking for teachers.
Every course includes seminars which give practical, informed advice on:
- how and where to find TEFL jobs
- how to write a TEFL resume
- typical jobs and conditions of work
- how to evaluate job offers and contracts
Our School has compiled very extensive TEFL job files, which are regularly updated. These files contain an enormous amount of valuable job search information and materials which include:
- articles on TEFL job markets overseas
- listings of over 3000 TEFL employers
- letters from our graduates teaching overseas
- examples of job offers and contracts
- current advertisements for TEFL jobs
