General English ESL Courses in Phoenix, Arizona

English Language School in Phoenix offers small, student-centered English language classes for all levels of English proficiency - from complete beginners to advanced. The class size is limited to a maximum of 8 students.

Our English classes are communicative based with an emphasis on developing speaking and listening skills. Students also learn grammar and structure and develop their reading and writing skills. The goal of our ESL classes is to make you comfortable using English in any situation you may encounter in everyday life. Outstanding teachers will provide you with the ability and confidence you need to face the world in English.

General English classes are offered at 5 levels:

• Low Beginners
• High Beginners
• Low Intermediate
• High Intermediate
• Advanced.

You will be placed with students of your level and will study in a setting that is comfortable for adult learners. Students should take a placement test before the beginning of their classes. The duration of the placement test is 1 hour 20 minutes. You can take the test Monday through Thursday from 12 pm to 4:30 pm.

Our English Language School offers you a stress free, relaxing and comfortable environment along with advanced learning materials (video, DVD, audio, computer) and other essential learning tools and materials to guarantee your success in learning English.

We offer Intensive General English ESL courses with 20 lessons a week (4 lessons a day, Monday through Friday) and Intensive Plus program with 28 lessons a week. You can start the Intensive and Intensive Plus course any Monday and study from one week to as long as you wish (up to 36 weeks).

We also offer part-time General English ESL group classes. Each session lasts 6 weeks and includes a total of 24 lessons of instruction (4 lessons a week, 1 lesson = 45 minutes). Students can join ongoing sessions any time. You can take as many sessions as you wish. The tuition fee for 6 weeks is $270.00

We do not place students with different levels in the same group. If there are only one or two students in the class, the number of lessons is reduced and you will receive private (semi-private) classes at discounted rate.

We also offer private one-to-one General English courses with flexible schedules for students of all ages. Our private classes are designed for people who wish to learn English in the shortest possible period of time. You will be able to concentrate on personal objectives during the individual training.

For international students visiting Arizona, we offer an exciting "English Outside the Classroom" program. You will learn Conversational English while visiting Phoenix and other parts of Arizona with your instructor. These classes outside the classroom offer first-hand experience as the most efficient way to receive cultural orientation and and acquire general knowledge of English during the activities with your instructors.

As a first step, it is important to identify your current level in English and the level you would like to obtain. The number of hours of instruction needed to advance from one level to another depends, in large part, on the type of course you select, your ability to learn a new language, knowledge of other languages, etc. Arizona Language Institute offers a variety of internationally recognized exams to measure your progress in English.
