  • Arizona State University, College of Education
    The College of Education provides a stimulating, challenging forum wherein scholars and practitioners interact in the discovery and mastery of the science and art of educational endeavors. Programs that prepare students for teacher certification by the state are available to both the undergraduate pursuing a first degree and the individual with a college degree in a non-education field. Undergraduate Degrees: Elementary Education, Concentration: bilingual education/English as a second language; Graduate Degrees.

  • Fresno Pacific Graduate School, Division of Language, Literacy and Culture
    The TESOL program is designed for candidates who wish to teach in international settings or who wish to teach community college or adult ESL classes in the United States. The college offers both a TESOL Certificate program and a Master of Arts in TESOL. The TESOL degree is widely recognized. Courses in this program present current research-based theory and engage students in activities that help them put this theory into practice. Courses are scheduled to enable students to complete the certificate during 2 semesters and the Master of Arts in 4 semesters (summer, fall, spring, summer). A candidate could begin one summer and finish at the end of the following summer. Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) Certificate The TESOL Certificate consists of 18 semester units of coursework.

    Department of Applied Linguistics & English as a Second Language

    The Department is committed to excellence in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages and in other applications of applied linguistics theory to the solution of real world problems. The department's instructional programs and research activities are designed for current and prospective language teachers, language learners, curriculum designers, materials developers, program administrators, teacher educators, and researchers in the field. All units housed within the department support this focus.

    The Master of Arts, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) option at Minnesota State University, Mankato, is an interdisciplinary program designed for both native and non-native speakers of English. The degree prepares candidates for employment in teaching, program administration, curriculum consulting, publishing and materials development.

  • Ohio Dominican College, Division of Languages
    Degree offered: Bachelor of Arts in TESOL. The TESOL major and minor give students a god background in linguistics, aspects of the English language and methods for teaching ESL. Practical teaching experiences, both on and off campus are provided. Cross-cultural communication skills and knowledge of a second language are two other components of the major. Endorsement in TESOL is also offered.

  • University of Colorado at Denver, School of Education
    The Bilingual/ESL Network (BEN) and the ESL for Adult and Secondary Learners Network (EASL) offer a number of Certificate Programs in ESL and/or Bilingual Education. Typically, a Certificate program is three to five (LLC) graduate courses (10-15 semester credit-hours). Certificate course credits in LLC can be applied to the Endorsement and/or the Master's. (However, a separate application must be made for these graduate programs). Currently, Certificates include the following: TESOL Certificate (for Adult and Secondary ESL); Content-ESL Certificate (C-ESL) (for Content Teachers at Secondary).
